My experience at the Breast Care Unit was entirely positive and I could not have received more respectful, caring treatment.
- The unit itself is modern, attractive and purpose-built.
It was welcoming at a time when I felt very vulnerable.
- The nurses could not do enough to make sure that I understood what was happening.
- I was extremely anxious and my anxiety was managed so that even when I was having tests and procedures I was never in any real discomfort.
- After surgery, I had my own room, which was immaculate ( I checked).
- The telephone queries I had were answered very quickly by the breast care nurses.
I was treated well within the guideline times.
- The surgeon, the radiographer and the nurses treated me as an individual rather than as a set of symptoms and never rushed me. They were professional and compassionate.
- Finally I would like to thank everyone at the unit for my care, which will be ongoing.
This is a first-rate service and one of which the NHS should be proud.
