I very publicly fainted while I was performing in the local bandstand with our community rock choir. A colleague, knowing that I suffered from AF and concerned that I'd had a heart attack or stroke, called 999, even though by that time I was coming round. The single ambulance in the town was not available, so a crew from Kingsbridge came instead, 13 miles away. It took 1 hour 55 minutes to arrive, but the service from the crew was excellent, with tests run and a possible explanation for the episode. Just as well it hadn't been a heart attack or stroke, as it's quite possible I wouldn't have survived the wait.
"Terrible wait but brilliant service from the ambulance crew"
