I'm 67 and have what I presume are the inevitable 'age spots'. Having one that seemed to appear over a couple of days and quite big and dark I thought it best to get them all checked out. I haven't seen mine or any Doctor at the practise for a few years now as not one to go there unless absolutely necessary. Having finally managed to get a message through to triage, an appointment was made to see a paramedic. Whilst I am in awe of their skills, I can't imagine one of their skills is deciding if my 'age spots' are just that. Paramedic did take photos and consult with a dermatologist but I have come away a feeling of not being 100% satisfied that they were not physically checked by the right person. Photos are not a substitute for a physical examination. As a patient who very rarely bothers the Doctor I feel let down.
