"Treated with total respect and friendliness"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department University Hospital Hairmyres / Radiology

(as a relative),

My mum is a frail old woman in her 80s and has been complaining of right wrist pain for 2+ weeks.

I phoned the GP practice at 8:30, was asked to bring mum up at 2:45. The ANP examined her and thought it may be a fracture. Wrote out an x-ray card and we went to Hairmyres Hospital.

Waited just over 10 mins for an x-ray, the radiographer told us her wrist is broken, we went to A&E, waited 30 mins, my mum say the nicest, most informative nurse who applied a  splint and gave us advice and we left at 5.05 pm.

I can't thank the ANP/radiographer and A&E nurse enough. We were treated promptly, with total respect and friendliness and I felt totally informed. Thank you to you all.

Dear Alison 184,

Thank you for taking the time to post regarding your mums visit to Hairmyres Hospital. Your comments will be shared with the ED and Radiology team who I am sure will be delighted to read your positive feedback regarding how their compassionate approach made what must have been a stressful time for your mother and you more bearable.

Wishing your mother a speedy recovery

kind regards

Margaret
