"Just what you need when you are feeling down"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Infectious Diseases

(as the patient),

Over the past 12 months I have endured 5 episodes of infections in my legs gradually increasing in severity, each time I had s hospital stay ranging from three to four weeks. On discharge from hospital I came under the care of the OPAT Infection Unit run by Sharon and Dr Tonna. I just have to say that their care, compassion and professionalism is second to none. They work as the perfect team, Dr Tonna being one of those doctors who speaks to you rather than at you, not aloof at all brilliant. Sharon well, where do you start. She is the driving force of the unit, she can not be faulted at all, professional, caring, knowledgeable, compassionate and above all a very nice friendly person. Just what you need when you are feeling down. Thank goodness for the NHS.

Yours sincerely

Dear Redreded,

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experiences with us. I hope that after your multiple infections, your health is now improving and you are recovering well.

The OPAT Team always strive to deliver a high standard of person centred care, ensuring their patients are kept well informed and supported during their time with the service and I’m delighted to learn that this has indeed been the case for yourself.

I will ensure that your kind words are shared with Sharon and Dr Tonna - both of whom will be delighted to receive such recognition.

Thank you once again,

Best Wishes,

Lisa
