"Lack of care at gp surgery"

About: General practices in Greater Glasgow & Clyde

(as a service user),

The aggressively toned notices on the waiting room wall at Nithsdale & Merryvale GP Surgery should be regarded as a huge clue to how this surgery feels about it's patients.

An hour after my appointment time had lapsed  I approached the reception to enquire how much longer I would have to wait. This was met with a surly shrug of the shoulders. When I suggested I may have to leave as couldn't wait any longer I received a dismissive eye roll.

The practise manager seemed sympathetic but did nothing to expediate my appointment or to offer an alternative.

Surely patients should be informed when arriving that their appointment would not be running to schedule?

Seems they couldn't care less.

Dear Manzy

Thank you for your post on Care Opinion.

I am sorry about your experience at your GP surgery and I would agree that patients should be notified if the clinic is running late.

As GPs are independent contractors, we would normally suggest that you contact the Practice Manager at your GP surgery to discuss your experience, however, I see that you have already did this. Are you happy for me to contact your GP surgery and to ask them to respond to your concerns?

Kind Regards

Nicole
