I’d received a letter inviting me to my doctor’s surgery for an annual health screening for over 75’s. As a result of this a lady was sent out to my house to visit me to show me how to use my inhaler’s properly with the spacer too. Apparently, the older people’s specialist nurse visit everyone but she said she wanted to visit me. I thought it was excellent that they could come and see me. She was very nice and explained everything thoroughly and put me at ease. I thought it was an excellent service. It makes a big difference because when you’re a bit older it’s easy to get a bit up tight the doctors because you know you only have a certain amount of time but with a visit at home you have more time and it’s more relaxed. She was so nice and when your appointment is with someone you feel you can talk to it’s really helpful. She showed me what to with the inhalers. I’d already had one but don’t think I’d been using it properly. I feel better using it now and I can already feel the difference. She was also concerned by how low my BMI was, so she is coming to see me again next month which I think it really nice. I just thought she was lovely and it’s nice to be nice, I think too many people are quick to complain but not often enough do people say thank you.
"Lovely home visit for support with using inhalers"
