About: University Hospital Ayr / Cardiology University Hospital Hairmyres / Cardiology

(as the patient),

I suffered a heart attack in June. I was taken to Hairmyres and received stents an transferred to Ayr where the care was outstanding. I received more stents in September and was referred to the cardiac rehab programme where Lindsay, Sheena, Maureen and Laura provided excellent person centred care. I wish to thank my consultant Dr McGowan, all the staff in the coronary care unit at Ayr and Hairmyres Mr McGeoch at Hairmyres and all those whom I have failed to recall their names.

Thanks to everyone for making my recovery so positive.

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.

Dear Tradewinds17,

Wow, it is great to hear that this experience was so positive and it had a silver lining for you. I will pass this to Dr McGowan and the team so they can all benefit from this pat on the back. It is a pleasure to hear that Lindsay, Sheena, Maureen and Laura treated you with such a person centred approach.

Thank you for taking time to let us know,

best wishes for your onward recovery,

Eunice

Dear Tradewinds17,

Firstly please accept my apology for my delayed response. We endeavour to respond to feedback received through Care Opinion within three working days. A routine review of the system shows that we have not responded to your submission.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at what must have been a very worrying time for you and your family.

Feedback from people using our services is really important as it enables us to reflect and learn about what we are doing well and what we could do better. It's really gratifying for staff to hear that they have had a positive impact and I will ensure your feedback is shared with the Cardiology staff.

I wish you well with your convalescence.

Kind regards
