"Poor communication and unavailable"

About: Whipps Cross University Hospital

I am disgusted and extremely upset with how impossible it is to contact anyone in the eye clinic or any department associated with it! I needed to reschedule an important follow up appointment (due to my 4 month old baby being unwell) and have been trying to contact them for over a week only to be put on hold for a total of nearly 3 hours and then to to be sent from department to department and given wrong numbers! A helpful person told me I need to go through to the A&E eye clinic however they were unlikely to answer the phone and sure enough they didn't. I am at a total loss as to what I should now do short of going back to A&E, but again with a 4 month old baby that is not a great option. I feel completely let down by the hospital and am now having to suffer because of it!

It is disappointing to read that you experienced difficulty contacting our eye clinic. Please accept our apologies for this.

Your feedback is really important to us and we have sent this over to the Ophthalmology Team so that they are able to make improvements to the service they provide.
