"Improving the experience in CAU"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Combined Assessment Unit (CAU)

(as a service user),

My room had no television in it even though there was a tv bracket on the wall. My visitors told me that some of the rooms did have a tv so I don’t know why mine didn’t. It’s difficult to be stuck in bed all day looking at the four walls with not much else to do. Is there a chance that the tvs could be replaced please? It really would make a difference

Dear Pluspg84,

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to provide us with feedback following your recent stay within the CAU at Crosshouse Hospital

We are aware that there are some rooms within the CAU that do not currently have a television within them. Unfortunately we are unable to have televisions put onto the walls due to effective decontamination issues highlighted during the Covid pandemic. This has meant that any televisions removed from the rooms for repair or disposal cannot be replaced.

I fully understand how disappointing this is to our patients and we will continue our efforts to find a suitable resolution.

Kind Regards

Nancy
