"Top drawer care, emotional support and help given"

About: Gloucestershire Royal Hospital / Accident and emergency South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as a relative),

My wife fell and hit the back of her head, quickly loosing consciousness requiring a 999 call for an ambulance. The first responders arrived quickly and acted swiftly to stabilize and calm what had the potential to be a highly charged situation, occurring as it did, in a busy hotel bar during a reception after a late friends funeral.

The first ambulance crew on the scene, recognizing the potential severity of the situation immediately called for back up from more experienced and suitably qualified colleagues who also arrived quickly and acted in an exemplary manner throughout.
The care, emotional support and help given to my wife and to me was top drawer.
My heart felt thanks and gratitude go to Kim, Tara, Dave, Karen and Diana who were a credit to themselves first and foremost but also the organization that they represent.
The A&E Department at Gloucester Royal Hospital also deserve our thanks for their professional and caring approach throughout our thankfully short stay under their care.

Good afternoon nhsfan1

Thank you so much for providing us with feedback on the service you received for your wife, it is much appreciated! We are so glad to hear that she was well looked after, though we are sorry that you both had to experience this at all.

For confidentiality, your patient information is redacted on this platform and so we cannot find the details of your incident, we would love to pass your message onto the Ambulance crew who attended you and so, if you would be willing to share some additional information, please could you email plaudits@swast.nhs.uk with your name, date the ambulance arrived, address and thank you message, we will then ensure this is passed onto to the relevant crew.

Thank you again for taking the time to feedback and we do hope your wife is recovering well!

Kindest regards,

Sami and Dee
