Having had 8/9 chest infections so far in 2022, and a clear chest x ray followed by a clear chest exam by my gp, I was referred to the clinical research centre at Ninewells Hospital to have a chest CT.
It was a little tricky to find the building (there’s a steep staircase with a handrail which isn’t very secure ) to navigate beside the TORC centre , which is opposite the clinical research centre.
The centre itself looks very pleasant on first impressions. The person at the front desk told me where to go next .
Once I went downstairs a staff member named Tomasz met me and took me into a side room to ask if I understood about how the test works etc. He was very professional and friendly.
I was shown to a changing room with a locker. Once I was changed I went out and the radiologist was waiting on me. She was very helpful and friendly.
I was taken through to the CT scanner, and the test was over and done with in a few minutes.
Once that was done I was free to get dressed and leave again.
The building is lovely. There’s a very nice painting in the waiting area and comfortable looking seats. I noticed a lift for people who can’t manage the stairs up& down.
The staff I saw were all very professional and couldn’t have been more reassuring.
Many thanks.
