My little girl had to go in to the day case ward for an operation recently, she (and I) were both very nervous and didn't know what to expect, she's always had a big fear of being unwell or in pain.
As soon as we arrived all the staff on the ward put us right at ease, everyone was so welcoming and friendly - special shout out to the staff nurse looking after us Rory, he was the most friendly, kind and fun staff member ever and he instantly made my little one laugh and looked after us every step of the way!
All the rest of the day case ward staff were so superb and really attentive, the staff from the operating suite were fantastic too, the staff member looking after us in green scrubs after the operation (I think her name was Kerry?) could not have been more lovely and approachable.
Having your little girl go through an operation is a daunting and scary experience for any parent, but our experience in Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital was everything the NHS is loved and cherished for. The staff should all be very proud of themselves.
All my thanks & appreciation - One happy and calm Mommy.
