"Post Covid Syndrome Service"

About: South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust / Post Covid Syndrome Service

(as a service user),

I was referred to this service after a serious bout of Covid in February 2022. I was bedridden for 3 weeks. I continued to have symptoms such as cough, fatigue, chest infections etc and was just given steroids and antibiotics continually.

No one explained why I was feeling this way or discussed it with me until I spoke with Tina in the Post Covid Syndrome Service. It was great for someone to finally listen to all my symptoms and reassure me that it was long covid and that she would be able to provide me with some tools to manage my symptoms as well as make some referrals to other areas such as Speech & Language Therapy & respiratory.

I am so grateful for this service, It has really helped me. It took 6 months to get the appointment but with more staff in place it would cut down the waiting time.

I am delighted that your time with Tina was beneficial and that through listening to your experience, working in partnership with you to develop a range of tools to manage your symptoms and some onward referrals to specialist services that you were helped.

I apologize for your wait which is due to the high demand the service is experiencing and as you suggest additional staffing would assist with this.
