"Prioritising people at its finest"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

Came into the ED in Hairmyres at 11:30pm with my grandmother (86) with chest pain. As everyone is aware the NHS especially A&E departments are stretched. Still at A&E while writing this review -5:30am-

May appear like a negative but this review is not to down cry the staff. In fact the complete opposite. Staff could see that patients were frustrated and exhausted. Instead of dismissing the feelings of the frustrated patents, staff came round with a tea trolly and reassuring words and apologies. Rachel, Stephanie and Kirsty have been fantastic! Well Done, Girls! Credit to the NHS.

Prioritising people at its finest.

Dear Teamleader

Thank you for sharing your experience within Hairymres A & E.

I’m sorry to hear your grandmother waited so long to be seen however as you have stated the NHS is stretched at present.

It’s lovely to hear the staff apologised for the long wait and refreshments we’re offered.

I will ensure to share your lovely feedback with Rachel, Stephanie and Kirsty.

Hope your grandmother is recovering well.

Regards

Shirley-anne
