"Poor care on Station 3 of Ayr Hospital"

About: University Hospital Ayr / General Surgery

(as a service user),

During my stay on Station 3 for post operative care I feel my dignity was not respected. I felt extremely vulnerable at the lack of care.

Some of the actions of the nursing team during my stay on the ward has left my mental health in a vulnerable state, as procedures were carried out without consent etc and were traumatic.

I left fearing needing to return to the hospital for future care or surgery

It should be noted that the pre-op care, surgical care and the night staff on station 3 were very professional and caring.

Sadly it was the day care on Station 3 that has let the hospital down.
