"Breast Cancer Treatment"

About: Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital / Breast surgery Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital / X-ray and Scans

(as a service user),

Following a routine mammogram a small lump was found in my breast. I then had biopsies and markers put in. It was an early stage cancer. Within two weeks I was in hospital having surgery for the removal of the lump and nodes in my armpit. Surgery was successful and the cancer had been removed with clear margins. I was prescribed Tamoxifen for five years and 9 weeks after surgery I had 5 radiotherapy treatments.

Unfortunately whilst having the radiotherapy plotting CT they incidentally discovered a nodule and consolidation on my lung. This is another journey I will now embark on. I cannot fault the treatment and care I received from the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. At every stage of my recent Cancer journey they have been kind, caring and very professional at all times. Ladies please attend mammogram appointments when you are offered them, it could save your life.
