About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department

(as a service user),

My husband visited the Emergency department, as a referral from his GP, last week due to significant drop in blood pressure and chest pain.

My husband was very anxious about attending the department as he knows how busy the staff are, and did not know what results / outcome he would get.

The outstanding care and attention that he received during a very busy shift, ranging from the nursing staff to the doctors made a stressful situation a bit less traumatic for him.

My husband would like to thank you for the care that he received.

I can understand your husband's anxiety, feeling unwell and knowing how busy the site is, however it is important that he attended and received the appropriate care.
