About: Dorset County Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a friend),

I attended ED with my best friend after calling 111. She had fallen and broken her wrist. My friend was in shock and denial on arrival though in my opinion it was an obvious fracture - but the whole team were attentive and caring.

From the minute we arrived and checked in via the telephone at ED and gave our details the care was exceptional. 

In particular Dr Ress who was thorough, efficient and so attentive. Also Jeanette in xray who we saw twice and Lauren who plastered my friends wrist. 

I work for another Trust and am a lead in my field and I was so impressed.

We never felt abandoned or left waiting around and the whole journey from arrival to discharge took less than 4 hours. 

Dr Ress in particular ensured my friend was pain free and the journey was seamless.

It is fantastic to hear about the care your friend received from the staff in the Emergency Department, Diagnostic Imaging and the Plaster room – this is the high standard of care that we hope to achieve for all our patients, and it is great to see we are getting it right.
