"Patient care & support."

About: Ninewells Hospital / Accident & Emergency Ninewells Hospital / Cardiology

(as a service user),

Emergency admission to Coronary Care Unit via A&E by Ambulance from GP surgery. GP, A&E & Ambulance staff marvellous. CCU staff excellent. Advised operation necessary and later told by an unknown member of staff that I was to be transferred to another ward.

No explanation, and it did not happen till 6 am. Operation, then again told I was to be moved to an admissions ward, whilst I waited on X-ray.  I refused to be moved and had to push for discharge at 1 am after X-ray happened.

Theatre staff amazing! Behind the scenes infrastructure fractured, shuffling people around to make beds available whilst exposing patients to unnecessary risk of in-house infection including Covid is unacceptable.

Thankyou for your feedback. I am happy to discuss your case further with you should you wish to.

Pleased to hear aspects of your journey were good but apologies you felt parts of the infrastructure let you down. We continue to strive to ensure we provide the best experience we can & your comments are really valuable.
