"Utter garbage service."

About: Deepcar Medical Centre

Informed by my doctor to go and have my blood pressure and bloods done.

Had these done, and was told again by the doctor to make a repeat appointment to have my bloods done again and blood pressure as it was high when i first visited.

Tried on two occasions now to get an appointment for this to be done, as per doctors request.

No appointments for at least 2 weeks.

So what are people supposed to do then.

Get told to ring at 8 am and by 9 am after not being able to get through all appointments gone.

So i ask again what are you supposed to do.

Tried to get another appointment for my husband aswel, told the same thing, no appointments.

He also has been told to make a repeat appointment, but you cant get one.

And its quite personal what he needs to see a doctor for.

But as usual the receptionists think they are all doctors and want to know what you need to see a doctor for.

Its personal, dont want to share my private problems with a receptionist thank you very much. If he wanted to discuss this with the receptionists he would make an appointment to see them rather than a doctor.

Best thing about it is, when you do get an appointment (on very rare occasions) there is no one waiting in the waiting room.

So does this mean all appointments are phone appointments now adays.

Ridiculous.

Receptionist we spoke to over the phone very clever in tone and manner, told us thats upto you when we said we would be moving gp's.

Not interested at all.

Will be moving after this.

Goodbye.

Thank you for bringing your concerns to the attention of the practice.

The practice is committed to providing a high quality, patient-focused service. Complaints and comments from patients are taken very seriously, as we want every patient to feel satisfied with the services we provide.

We apologise for the issues you have experienced when using our service. We strive to provide the best possible service for our patients but are currently experiencing immense pressures. These pressures are intensified whilst we are further impacted by long term sickness and Covid isolations. Deepcar Medical Centre is not alone in struggling with these pressures as GP surgeries across Sheffield, South Yorkshire and the United Kingdom all report being overwhelmed. We are also aware that we have had long term problems in struggling to meet the demand on the phones and that this is now made worse by the surge in demand.

Once again, we apologise for the negative experience you have had and assure you we are working on trying to improving access.
