I am now at the final part of my breast cancer journey and I have left feedback about the wonderful care I received at other points in my journey. I was referred to Beatson for radiotherapy following removal of breast lump and lymph node. I just want to thank everyone for their care, kindness and compassion.
Firstly the lovely 2 receptionists who welcomed me when I arrived for assessment and showed me around the areas of the building I would be going and booked my complementary treatments so kind and put me at ease. The radiotherapists who carried out my CTI scan who were very friendly and explained everything they were doing and why and again put me at ease. The radiotherapists who delivered the radiotherapy who again were so kind and cheery and explained what they were going to do and what to expect. The 2 nurse specialists who saw me before and after my treatment to explain potential side effects and how to care for my skin and removed a rogue stitch still in my wound which didn't want to dissolve! Finally the 2 therapists who totally relaxed me with their wonderful treatments what a service!!.
I am now in the final stage of my journey and have an appointment with the Oncologist next month who will hopefully sign me off. I just want to thank everyone again from the bottom of my heart for everything they have done for me and they have no idea how grateful I am that they are doing the job they do. NHS Scotland and the Beatson are wonderful! xxx
