Friday was national Allied Health Professionals (AHP) day, a day where we show our appreciation for our AHPs in whichever role they play in our lives.
I would like to offer my personal appreciation and thanks to the AHPs of Kilbryde Hospice in East Kilbryde. As a staff member living with long covid for the past 15 months, the support I have received (both professionally and personally) has been wonderful.
From Anna (music therapist), Janice, Louise & Stacey (complementary therapists), Careen (physiotherapist) and Catherine (spiritual care), I have received a number of different services and therapies. These include breathing exercises & techniques, aromatherapy, reiki, shiatsu, and, very importantly, the opportunity to discuss the challenges long covid has presented and the impact they have had on my physical and mental wellbeing.
The input of these AHPs has enabled me to develop coping strategies for many of my symptoms and to be able to remain at work.
Sometimes a thank you does not seem enough but this one is genuine and heartfelt. Our hospice could not run without these wonderful and highly qualified people.
