"Great care"

About: Western General Hospital / Oncology

(as a relative),

My father was really well cared for over his time on Ward 15 WGH.

All the team on the ward approached him with a smile and a positive attitude. Nothing came across as a bother and everyone treated him with great kindness.

It's ridiculous that the team on the ward have to be based in a building that hasn't been fit to care for patients for many years. I can't be the only person to think why has my dad been housed in this dump. But quickly I saw that all the things that matter ( the people and their attitude) are excellent.

Dear coo52,

Thank you for taking the time to share your Dad's experience in ward 15, Sister Boyd and her team will be delighted to receive such positive feedback. Unfortunately ward 15 is in one of the oldest buildings on the site. I am sure you noticed when visiting there is a lot of building work taking place on site, this is part of the upgrade of the Edinburgh Cancer Centre and ward 15 will be moving to one of the newly refurbished wards next year.

Thank you once again for taking the time to provide such lovely feedback about the staff in ward 15 who are doing an amazing job in spite of the environment

Kind Regards

Geraldine
