"We left feeling looked after and supported"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Urology

(as a carer),

Husband has complex care needs that require a fine balance between managing anticoagulant therapy and a urethral stricture that is currently managed with a catheter. Unfortunately the anticoagulant caused  significant bladder haematuria and clot formation and subsequent blockage of the catheter.

A phone call to the urology nurse specialist led to a review in urgent care and a full assessment and management plan put in place thereby avoiding a hospital admission and giving us both reassurance.

Everyone involved, from Avril the urology nurse, Julie ANP in assessment, Nitesh the urology registrar and Mr McIlhenny were thorough in their assessment, considerate of the complex care needs and inclusive when discussing management options.

I cannot praise them enough in their professionalism and kindness and we left feeling looked after and supported.
