"No internet connection"

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Acute Receiving Unit (Ward 2c)

(as a service user),

My toddler had an emergency admission to ward 2C. The care received from the nurses was excellent.

However there was no tv/iPad in the room. This in itself would not have been a problem if the internet was working.

I tried to join the NHS patient network, which I was able to do. However, it constantly reported no internet connection.

It makes the duration of your stay more difficult. Trying to keep a toddler entertained in a small cubicle.

Not a huge issues, but had the internet been working our experience would have been much easier.

Dear Stressedmummy,

Sorry to hear your toddler was admitted to hospital, and I hope they are now on the road to recovery. Thank you for the lovely feedback on the excellent care from the staff in ward 2C, we will pass on your feedback.

I can only imagine how frustrating it must have been, as you described to keep a toddler entertained during your stay and I can only apologise for the technical difficulties you experienced with our internet connection and lack of technological support during your stay.

We will raise this with out Information Technology team with regards to the difficulties with your experience with the internet connection.

Our team are also currently working round the hospital installing ipads in all the inpatient wards, as we are aware of the difference this makes to our patients and families. Please accept our apologies and be assured that this is something we are currently working on to resolve.

Kind Regards

Mandy
