"Helpful and kind member of staff"

About: Gartnavel General Hospital / Orthotics Royal Alexandra Hospital / Orthotics

(as the patient),

My husband had an appointment at Gartnavel Hospital in Orthotics department with Vhari. He saw her back in June she measured him up for new boots which were ready in August but as he was in hospital he was unable to make it to collect them until now.

The boots fitted perfect. He is delighted with them and we can't thank Vhari enough for her help and the kind way she has with her patients.

He had a not had a very pleasant appointment at the Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH) the previous year. The staff member from the Orthotics dept made my husband feel more like a nuisance and felt like someone who was looking for something for nothing . They even asked me to bring up any shoes I had bought to see what was wrong with them

My husband actually ended up upset, I couldn't believe their attitude. It's as if we got the brunt of whatever was bothering them that day. So best thing we did was make the appointment at Gartnavel even though it takes 2 train journeys to get there, you're greeted with a pleasant face.

Thank you once again Vhari

Dear Mpeople

Thanks for taking the time to give us some lovely feedback about Mhairi, this will be passed on as it is helpful for staff to know when they have made your experience with our service a positive one.

I’m really sorry to hear your previous experience at the Royal Alexandra Hospital was not so positive and I would like to know more about this as we always strive to improve. If we could feedback to the member of staff involved about how they made you feel, we can support them to make yours, and other patients, experience at the Royal Alexandra Hospital better as travelling to Gartnavel is not the best solution to this for you.

I can be contacted by phone on 07972 731945 or email on Nikki.munro@ggc.scot.nhs.uk and would be really keen to talk to you about your experience at the RAH.

Thank you

Nikki
