After returning home from university I picked up an illness. As my GP was registered back in my university city I filled in a temporary registration form so I could book an appointment at the Deepings Practice. After a bit of chasing about I managed to book an appointment at the reception and was given a ticket with said appointment date and the Dr I was meant to see. While waiting for this date my illness worsened and so this appointment became more and more important. On the day, upon trying to check in, I was told that I couldn’t have an appointment, despite being given a date and consultant name on a physical ticket they had previously given me, due to me being on temporary registration, despite being told that I could previously over the phone and in person. They told me I would have to go to my GP back in my university city, which is very far away and I wasn’t going back for a while yet and my illness was worsening. The receptionist blamed the previous receptionist who booked me the appointment claiming that they were ‘quite new’, despite me being told that I was fine getting an appointment by multiple members of staff.
