"Urgent appointment missed"

About: South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Patient transport service Wycombe Hospital / Respiratory medicine

(as the patient),

I had an urgent lung capacity test booked. I'm agoraphobic, so going out is always an issue and always stressful. I have to have a trusted person to accompany me. This was arranged, and on the day we both sat waiting for the ambulance I had booked through patient transport services.

When it was just an hour before my hospital visit, an ambulance still hadn't arrived. I phoned and to my horror I was told the appointment I booked was cancelled by an admin assistant at Wycombe Hospital a week beforehand.  I phoned the Respiratory Unit at the hospital and they said they would investigate.

After a week passed I heard nothing so contacted PALS. who also did nothing and told me they were having trouble getting through to patient transport - for over two and a half weeks?

This colossal mistake cost me an urgent appointment as I have recently been diagnosed with emphysema. I got nowhere and nothing was done. No one has been held accountable for their mistake, neither did I receive an apology.
