"Exceptional care from SAS and A&E staff"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department

(as a service user),

After dislocating and fracturing my shoulder, I was unable to move and required the Scottish Ambulance Service to attend. Paramedics Kevin and Craig  arrived and they were totally amazing from the start - instantly calming and reassuring both me and my daughter. Their patience and expertise made a very difficult situation much better, and I couldn’t have asked for better care.

Once I got to A&E, I was looked after by nurses Laura and Dot. They were both fantastic and very attentive, and again, I received wonderful care. The service in A&E was slick, including the trip to radiology and the input from the attending doctor and physio. I’ve been a nurse myself for 36 years, and so it was strange being on the other side of care, but this whole experience made me feel even prouder of our NHS than I already was!

Dear Palliativecarenurse

Thank you for your kind words about the Scottish Ambulance Service Crew who attended you. I know from experience that your injury must have been excruciating and very worrying. I am glad that they were able to assist you and help reassure and calm both you and your daughter.

I do hope you are feeling better and are on the road to recovery.

If you would like me to pass on your thanks and have the crew commended could I ask that you contact our Patient Experience Team at sas.feedback@nhs.scot with your name, Care Opinion username, the date and address where we attended.

Kindest regards

David
