I am a volunteer guide within the QEUH. At the end of August while on duty I was approached by a mum with a young child looking for Children’s A&E. I was taking them along the link corridor when the child said he felt sick and Mum was attempting to carry him.
I sat them down and ran into the children’s atrium. I asked a couple of people for a wheelchair but no help. I then approached the receptionist at the front desk, I think her name was Jane. I explained the situation and within seconds I had a chair , sick bowl and paper towels.
I took them to the mum and the little boy was delighted to get taken in the chair by his mum.
I then showed them where A&E was, mum was so grateful. I spoke to my own manager and she suggested I put this on.
I am so grateful to this brilliant lady at reception for being so kind an helpful..
My manager asked me to give my story . Thankyou! I just want this lady to know mum was so grateful and so was I.
"Very helpful receptionionist at atrium children’s hospital"
