I have to go a couple of times a year for hydrocortisone injections in my relatively young knees which sadly gave up on me long before they really should have. :(:(
To receive the injections, I attend the Medical Day Case Unit (MDCU) of the Ulster Hospital, Dundonald. On each and every visit for my treatment the staff are awesome, so friendly and welcoming, and that really helps when you are attending for treatments that are not particularly pleasant.
On my last visit I was greeted at reception and immediately put at my ease by the wonderful staff who welcomed me and had a lovely chat with me before I went to the waiting room to be called in to get my injections.
The consultant who carried out the injections - yes, I was also lucky enough on this day to have a consultant treat me. Both the consultant and the nurse who was helping him were lovely. They chatted to me and put me very much at my ease throughout. I feel very lucky to have people like this taking care of the ongoing treatment I receive for osteoarthritis of my knees.
Thank you, MCDU.
"The staff are awesome"
