Went to Queen Elizabeth's Hospital Glasgow as I had low platelets. Then developed an infection in my gallbladder and liver which was treated with antibiotics. Meanwhile my blood showed abnormal cells so I had a bone marrow test to confirm Leukemia. All a bit of a shock.
I was transferred to Ward 4C Haematology and was cared for a month by their amazing staff team given chemotherapy. I have been discharged and will continue my 2nd Chemo as an out patient at Glasgow Victoria. I am waiting on the results of my last bone marrow to see if I am in remission or not.
I have been very impressed with all the care given to me so far. The only pain I have is due to constipation from the Chemo so I am trying to keep it under control. Not sure what side effects the next cycle will bring but hopefully I stay strong. I find I need to keep walking and exercise my legs as they are weak but other wise I am doing okay.
