X ray receptionists very helpful and understanding. I have 2 hearing aids. They lowered their masks and spoke clearly. They said they would listen for my appointment call in case I missed it. Which they did.
I went in for my X-ray the man was asking questions and shouting but I said I have hearing problems and was worse with accents. I asked him twice if he could lower his mask but he ignored the request
I eventually found he just needed my basic details. I felt very vulnerable and upset
As I left I was feeling tearful and explained to one of the receptionists. She was very supportive and said it should not have happened She said I could make a complaint to PALS but was too upset at the time. She said to inform them before my appointment and I can get assistance. But have not had this problem in ENT Audiology or Rhuematology. As I said earlier I would like to compliment the 2 very supportive excellent receptionist
Maybe your staff need deaf awareness training
