"The mirena coil"

About: Sexual Health Services - North Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent (Open Clinic)

(as the patient),

I was very confused.   I was told at the appointment that I didn’t need a replacement because of my age and could just have my current one removed but refrain from sex until I had a blood test in 4 weeks to determine my fertility.   If my fertility is low then I don’t need to go back but if I am still fertile I could go back and have the coil fitted again.

I felt very much put on the spot and I am not very happy about the situation as now I am concerned that this is a lot of pressure on my relationship with my husband

Dear eaterrk55

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on the service you received. I would like to apologise for how you were made to feel and I am concerned about the advice you have been given.

If you are able to email me with your name and date of birth and a contact telephone number, I would like to look into your concerns and hopefully put your mind at ease.

Kind regards.
