"Interrupted every time we spoke"

About: Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital

(as a parent/guardian),

Teenage son consult re tight foreskin, told he was sensitive and sent home with to try vaseline for 3 months, no opportunity to ask questions as was interrupted every time we spoke, really intimidating experience and we’ll have to hope there’s no complications for the next 3 months then! In addition to the above, medical student staring intensely at parent when perhaps they could have listened to consult.

Hi triangulumfx64,

I am really disappointed to read that you and your son had such a poor experience in the children's hospital. No-one should leave our services feeling intimidated or rushed and for that I apologise sincerely on behalf of the whole RACH team. If you wish me to raise this with the individuals concerned on your behalf I would be happy to do so. Please contact me at caroline.clark3@nhs.scot.
