"Dislocated shoulder"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

As a result of a fall I dislocated my right shoulder. Fortunately I was able to relocate it at the time, but it was very painful afterwards and I had little movement in it. I attended the ED at Wishaw where I was seen and treated promptly by Dr Mackay and the physio practitioner Laura. They were very professional, sympathetic and took good care of me. The nurse, Fiona, was very kind and fetched my husband for me as I was a bit nervous! The radiographer, Claire, was also very helpful and explained what I had to do. (I was very apprehensive that it would ‘pop out’ again). I left feeling happy that I had appropriate follow up and knew what to do next. The department was very busy whilst I was there, but I could see every member of staff was doing their utmost to provide the best care possible. Thank you.

Dear HistoryGirl

Thank you so much for taking the time to tell us about your recent experience with A&E at University Hospital Wishaw.

Really pleased this was a reassuring and positive experience for you. It is great encouragement for staff to be recognised and feel valued by people accessing services.

It will be a pleasure to share your feedback with the team.

We hope you are making a good recovery.

Thank you

Karen
