My mother was recently admitted to ward 7 C in Royal Victoria Hospital. She was very ill and a complicated medical case with a transplanted kidney and a progressive lung disease that had also impacted her heart.
Upon admission she was transferred to ward 7C and was under the care of Dr McCracken along with the Belfast City Hospital Renal team.
Sadly my mother lost her fight for life last Weds, after a week in ward 7C. However, the compassion and care she received on ward 7C was second to none. From the cleaners, domestic staff, nurses and doctors, everyone treated her with the utmost respect and care.
In particular we are thankful for Dr McCracken and the Renal team who throughout her stay tried very hard to explore all avenues and options that might enable a recovery balanced against how ill she actually was.
We are very grateful that she received such great attention in her final days and that we as a family were also treated with such care.
