About: Litherland NHS Walk in Centre

The practice receptionist and triage nurse were great

The nursing staff take it upon themselves to lecture parents on why they have brought their child to the walk in centre.

They are judgemental ,rude and also in the process of training students who are listening to conversations and taking notes on what I see as bad practice

I am a mum to three children, the youngest has hardly been to a GP in her life but developed sudden chest pain and feeling sick I couldn't get in touch with gp and even though I assumed it was something gastric she wouldn't take medicine or water. Because she has anxiety I knew the best thing was to get her obs done and over the four hour wait her pain moved to her side and she seemed much brighter.

The nurse told us why I shouldn't have brought her,why a GP probably wouldn't have seen her anyway, why I had acted too quickly ,why bringing her to a walk in may increase her anxiety. Why waiting four hours was a waste of my time

I have an older child with a serious disability who has had a heart murmur, brain surgery, respiratory issues.

I am fully aware of serious ailments but in this instance when their are no avenues to take you choose a walk in centre for minor ailments and you are still judged for being there

God help the trainees they really are in a lecture room.
