"Relaxed experience in endoscopy."

From the second I came into the reception I felt comfortable, everyone was so friendly. They asked how I was & I was really nervous as it was my 1st time. I was seen right away. A lady went through a form with me, she was really nice, made me feel comfortable. I understood all the questions asked.

I met the lady doing the scope, she went over all the questions again which I really liked, when I'm nervous I struggle to take things in. I went into the room it was being done and was introduced to the other woman there to assist. I was told I could stop at anytime. I also got told what was going to happen during the scope beforehand. I was given pain relief & sedation, that made me feel much more relaxed but I was aware of everything.

The ladies & I just chatted away & I asked some questions about what I was seeing on the screen as I'm just curious. It was an amazing opportunity to see the inside of my own digestive system. I went in terrified to get it done but if I ever need another I will be at full ease as the I know the woman there will be there to look after me & that apart from some light tummy cramps I can manage without any problem at all. There were plenty hand sanitizer & masks available.

I went into a recovery ward after & got checked over a few times which I appreciated & they made me a lovely cup of tea & sandwich & said that I could have more if I wanted. They timed my lift home for me getting out perfectly also.
