"Poor"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Accident and emergency

The triage nurse on A&E was brilliant. ECG done and bloods taken within 30 mins of arrival. Waited for the blood test results (I had a heart attack 4 weeks ago) and waited and waited! Eventually seen by a Dr who decided to take blood tests again, to test for the same protein levels they already had results from the first blood tests. Should be another hour for results. I eventually asked the triage nurse re the results. She chased them up and was given permission from the Dr to let me know the results and allow me to leave if all ok. She did this. She was truly efficient clearly knew how to use the Epic system. The department is in crisis very inefficient and procedure/process driven. The procedures/processes probably need reviewing.

Thank you for taking your time to provide us with your feedback. We appreciate all feedback whether it is positive or negative as it provides us with an opportunity to reflect and learn from patient's experiences.

I am glad to hear that the triage nurse was brilliant on the day you attended and I am sorry to hear about the negative aspects of your care.

Care Opinion does not provide us with patient information in order for us to look into your care and treatment when you attended. The department however is more than happy to look into your concerns further if you would like us to. Please contact me on e-mail sophie.grills@nhs.net and I will be happy to arrange for a member of the clinical team to look into your care and treatment further.

I hope you are well, and look forward to hearing from you soon

Kind regards

Sophie Grills
