"Wonderful Treatment "

About: St George's Hospital (Tooting) (London)

I recently underwent cochlear implant surgery at St. George’s wonderful Hospital. I was terrified of having a general anaesthetic. I was also very worried about the whole procedure! However, I now feel totally ashamed of myself for being so scared! I have received beyond outstanding care! The operation turned out to be a “doddle!” I had absolutely no side effects from the anaesthetic. The very successful procedure took 2 hours. I was then woken up and taken to the Recovery Ward where I was treated like Royalty! Instantly the Nurse asked me if I was hungry. I was then kept supplied with food and cups of tea! Very high quality tea, I would add! I was then transferred to Vernon Ward where my “spoiling” continued until I was discharged the next day. Words really are not enough to convey the level of care I received! The Surgeon who carried out the operation is beyond Awesome. As is the Anaesthetist, Surgeon’s Assistant and all the other Staff who cared for me! I have always held our dear NHS in very high regard. Now they are even more elevated in my eyes! Every single Member of Staff I came into contact with, were friendly, reassuring, empathetic and totally professional! It was beyond wonderful! All of them do a beyond fantastic job!! They all work so hard and yet still have time to talk or help each patient. Their attitude is one of complete and absolute vocation. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, dear St. George’s and my dear NHS!!
