"Fabulous team"

About: Royal Brompton Hospital

Recently I was at the Marsden, Fulham Road, who said; ‘bit of an issue here old chap, off to the Brompton thou shalt go’.

In short order I had an appointment for a lung biopsy and on Friday 26th July I duly arrived for le biopsy.

What a fabulous bunch of staff. From the char lady, to the newly arrived Nepalese nurse, to the whole multi-national, eclectic nursing team, the phlebotomy scavengers, the radiography crew – look at him glow -, the doctors, the marathon running porter who is on 13 of 100 marathons, and our meaning of life conversation was really cool. We ended up with; if there is one thing you would say to your kids what is it? Follow your dream, you don’t know where it will take you.

All was clear, and as calming as something can be when you know someone is going to launch a Shard sized biopsy needle into your lung.

Nobody wants the nonsense of ill health et al, but if you need it then a leaf should be taken from that team’s book. Ruddy fantastic. Thank you.
