About: Endoscopy Unit / Vanguard Endoscopy Unit

(as a service user),

I had a colonoscopy, sedation discussed and I opted for this.

Was made aware throughout the whole experience with good information pre, during and post procedure.  Although the procedure was uncomfortable at times I felt supported and changes of position during the procedure helped.

Excellent aftercare, I just felt a little tired but did not experience any pain. Given a cup of coffee and offered a sandwich and ready to go. Had to arrange for someone to stay with me for 24 hrs after the procedure due to the sedation effects, but felt good for leaving and no pain just very hungry .

Was given a clear explanation of what happened during the procedure and also provided with paperwork explaining this to take home
