My experience is similar to that of some of the other reviewers. Prior to being transferred by the NHS to Operose, to keep a check on my ocular hypertension, I could travel 3 miles down the road to Kidderminster Hospital and normally have all the checks and see an ophthalmologist with consecutive appointments on the same day. The arrangements for my latest check-up were instigated by me as Operose never contact me first when I am due. Now I have to make a 35-mile round trip to either Droitwich or Worcester.
My latest appointment was initially split into three visits, one to Worcester and two to Droitwich, spread over a three-week period. Total distance involved about 105 miles. Fortunately, after the first appointment I was able to rebook the remaining 2 appointments on the same day, although this was further delayed by me because of the heatwave. When I did eventually receive written confirmation in the post it arrived as two separate letters although the appointments were at 14:05 & 14:45 on the same day.
I’m lucky enough to have a car but what would they have done if I had no transport of my own? Very expensive using taxis.
