I went to Daisy Hill for my elective section in June. I had my previous babies in Craigavon and I was so nervous about going to a different hospital. From the moment I arrived that morning, I was totally overwhelmed with how lovely and caring everyone was. All of the midwives were brilliant and I cannot speak highly enough of them - fantastic team.
Two weeks later I was sent back to the Assessment unit to see a doctor, as I had an infection in my wound. I was greeted by Phil and Patricia at the doors and I was seen to straight away. Phil got me seen to within minutes by the doctor and they had me on my iv antibiotics within the hour of being there. A short time later I was up on the ward. The level of care has been exceptional. I was admitted for 5 days and then discharged. Every other day I had to go back to the Assessment unit for my wound to be redressed and it felt just like I was going to see my family. I was made so welcome from the minute I rang in the mornings. Everyone has been amazing - Patricia, Joanne, Natalie, Fiona, Carrieanne and especially Phil. Thank you all. I feel very lucky to have the help and support from the Assessment Unit. I enjoyed going up to see everyone and I will miss each and every one of them, especially Phil for keeping my partner calm and fed with tea and toast late that first evening. The level of care is amazing. Thank you again.
