Following a community midwives appointment, I was sent up to the assessment unit in daisy hill. I was seen by Geraldine, Joanne and then AnneMarie. They were fantastic from start to finish, which was inpatient admission to the maternity ward and then sent home by doctors x2 due to staff shortage. However, Geraldine and Joanne were the perfect blend of professionalism, warmth, great humour and expertise. I felt reassured and supported throughout. They also did not take their break until every last woman was seen to and cared for, which was well overdue and deserved.
Senior management of the trust could learn a thing or two from how these women operate and care for their clients. I wish to thank them for their care, attention and support. They made what seemed to be a scary and worrying situation, relaxed, manageable and were very supportive.
I’ve had to go in a few times over the last number of days and seeing them on shift only causes huge relief as I know my baby and I will be well taken care of.
I can’t thank them enough and only wish that they would be on the labour ward for when I deliver the baby. Thank you so much again!
