Last weekend my husband tested positive for Covid. He has a long-term medical condition and this results in him becoming extremely ill when suffering any kind of infection.
We registered his Covid positive result on the NHS Covid website. Because of his medical history, he was "flagged up" on the system and we were contacted by a very helpful doctor from the Covid response team at Craigavon.
My husband was too unwell to travel to the hospital for treatment but thanks to the doctor who contacted us (Dr Casey) and the Lead Nurse for the Urgent Care Nursing Team (Nurse Currie) two members of the team (Eddie & Louise) came to our home to administer the antiviral medication.
They worked quickly and skilfully, assessing the severity of the situation and doing what needed to be done whilst continually offering reassurance. Eddie and Louise were absolutely fantastic.
Thankfully, the antiviral medication has been effective and my husband's Covid infection has not been as serious as it otherwise might have been. It is difficult to express how much we appreciate the wonderful care and service which we received from the team. A huge THANK YOU to all involved.
"Excellent care and treatment from Covid response team"
