I attended A&E with my daughter in mid July due to a small head injury. The health care assistant who was triaging at the front door was great, my daughter was very upset and he showed care and compassion towards her which was lovely to see.
We were then directed to attend the desk at the triage area, again the man behind the reception desk (didn’t get his name) was great at calming my daughter by just chatting.
We were triaged by an emergency nurse practitioner called Hannah. She was amazing with my daughter! She took the time to speak with her, took her observations and explained what would happen next. We waited and we were sent to minor injuries to wait.
Whilst waiting to be seen, Hannah came back to say she was going to look after my daughter as she knew she was nervous and upset. She showed amazing care and compassion towards my daughter every step of the way and made my daughter feel at ease the whole time. After my daughter had her ‘magic glue’, Hannah got my daughter an ice lolly which made her day. Just want to say a big thank you to Hannah!
The whole experience was great start to finish and I just wanted to share it. Thank you to all the the staff for making a worried, anxious child feel at great ease.
