My mum was admitted in an emergency as she was vomiting blood to Causeway Hospital via the NI ambulance. Following some time in a casualty where the staff were exceptional My mum was admitted to Surgical ward 2.
Due to Covid 19 restrictions family were not allowed to visit, this was extremely distressing, and worrying, given how sick she was and we wanted to be with her 24/7. Staff nurse Anne spoke to me, spent time helping me understand, reassured me, took the time I needed to reduce my anxiety and was an absolute saint. She was very empathetic, and I was very very grateful. I cannot thank her enough. In such a stressful situation, it’s so comforting to have people like Anne who really care about their patients and their families. Thank you to her and all the amazing staff at the causeway hospital.
Mark in a and e, nurse Mary on night duty, in a and e, Siobhan in a and e - there were so many that showed their compassion and care for my mum.
Thank you for everything they do for the patients and their families. We are very lucky to have people like this in their profession.
